My name is Maria & I love asking provocative questions.

Raised by two scientists & a religious institution, the paradox of my childhood laid a foundation for curiosity. I desperately wanted to know the meaning of life, why humans behave the way they do, and why this is "right" and that is "wrong."

I reached a point in my life where I felt suspended between two seemingly opposite ways of viewing the world - science & spirituality. In order to deal with the overwhelming contradictions, as well as feelings of anger & resentment, my mind wrote elaborate stories of discomfort and loneliness.

Nichole started practicing yoga at a very pivotal moment in her life. She was pursuing a career as an Opera Singer, and had even planned on attending San Francisco Conservatory for graduate studies in vocal performance. About a month before she was set to move to San Francisco, she came to the painstaking realization that this was not what she wanted to do with her life. Ironically, she had not been in touch with her own desires; her own voice. Feeling lost and searching for answers, she came to yoga. The more she practiced yoga, the more empowered she felt. Gradually, practice by practice, she began to hear her own voice. Which is why Nichol wants nothing more than to inspire and empower others through teaching them yoga. Nichol's classes are well informed, intuitive, precise and fun! Nichol is a certified YOGAMAZÉ teacher. Her yoga influences are vast and eclectic.

Yoga found Sarah when she moved from Boston to Los Angeles more than 14 years ago. After years of competitive gymnastics and dance, yoga felt like a natural physical progression. What she hadn't anticipated was the rad healing journey her practice would present beyond the body and into the realm of mind and spirit.

Sarah received her Yoga Alliance RYT 200-hour through Yoga Mittra, under the guidance of Shelley Williams, Genevieve Pujalet, and Suzy Nece. As a facilitator for the non-profit, Embody Love Movement, Sarah shares workshops to empower girls and women to celebrate their inner beauty and contribute to a meaningful change in the world. She is currently working toward her RYT 500-hour certification through Laughing Lotus and is extremely grateful for all of the teachers along her path. She is currently the Chief Yoga Officer of Playlist Yoga in West Hollywood, where she spearheads their programming and works with teachers to turn each class into the kind of unique, music-driven experiences that have earned Playlist the nickname “The SoulCycle Of Yoga.”

After suffering a horrible back injury in 2003 that changed the trajectory of her dance career, she needed to find an outlet for her energy and genetic disposition for sweat. What originally seemed like her biggest roadblock ultimately introduced her to her greatest passion. Nicole simultaneously began yoga while recovering…and knew she was onto something. Although she had swam and danced professionally her entire life, it was yoga that transformed her mind, body and spirit all at once. She felt she could not share these gifts fast enough.

Nicole’s energy is unparalleled and her sense of humor is magnetic. She loves people – all backgrounds, personality types, and world views. She believes that everyone looking to work hard or change their physicality has a story, and it fascinates her to work with individuals to unlock their fullest potential on the mat and off. She believes our yoga practice is never done, our story is never as it seems, and that every single person has the ability to surpass their own wildest expectations.
