Self-care is one of the hottest buzzwords in the wellness-sphere, but what does it truly mean to care for yourself intentionally and mindfully? We chatted with Samantha, the founder of Chasin’ Unicorns, to learn what self-care means to someone who created a thriving business surrounding the idea.
Chasin’ Unicorns is offering all Yoga Wake Up members a special FREE GIFT - a $42 value face and body mask with their first purchase of the ritual box. Plus, use the coupon code "self love" at checkout to receive an additional 15% off your purchase. *limited time offer.*
For Samantha, her experience with anxiety and feeling stuck in a rut led her down her self-care path. Through this journey, she discovered that taking time to intentionally care for herself was incredibly transformative, and she knew that others would also benefit from exploring different ways to practice self-care. That’s where Chasin’ Unicorns comes in — a community for people to discover the transformative power of self-care and wellness rituals through a monthly delivery of self-care goodies. Whether you’re a seasoned wellness enthusiast or just starting out on your self-care journey, Chasin' Unicorns is there to help you chase your own unique version of magic with its Ritual Box subscription!
To Samantha, self-care is all about intentionally taking care of yourself in a way that honors your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. “When I take the time to care for myself in a deliberate and meaningful way, I'm able to show up more fully for the other people and activities in my life,” said Samatha. “It's not selfish or indulgent - it's a necessary part of maintaining my own health and well-being.”
Samantha’s ultimate self-care reset ritual includes lighting a candle, cooking a new recipe, making a cup of jasmine tea, using two of her bath bombs, and taking a bath with all the indulgences. She fully exfoliates her entire body, does a hair and face mask, and then lathers on her favorite body oil as soon as she steps out. She finishes the ritual by following her skincare routine, decluttering her house, and applying eye cream and lip balm while doing Gua sha and brushing her hair. Self-care doesn’t have to be a long, elaborate practice, it just needs to be acts that make you feel refreshed, renewed, or mentally reset! In addition to her ultimate reset ritual, Samantha tries to incorporate little self-care practices throughout her week, such as working out, practicing yoga or meditation, brewing a cup of tea, reading a book intentionally, journaling, spending time in nature, and doing her 10-step skincare routine every day, even when she has no energy for it.
Samantha’s newest self-care addition? The Yoga Wake Up app. Yoga Wake Up offers a variety of guided yoga and meditation practices that are specifically designed to help you wake up gently and mindfully. “I absolutely love the Yoga Wake Up app. It’s like having a hatch alarm clock but better. Since using the app, my mornings have become so much calmer, and I feel excited to wake up instead of dreading the day,” Samantha said. “It allows me to start my day on a positive and grounded note.” By starting her day with a gentle practice and some quiet time for reflection, Samantha is able to set a positive tone for the rest of the day.
Self-care rituals are truly magical, and Chasin' Unicorns is the perfect community to explore and embrace them. So, why not take a page from Samantha's book and carve out some intentional self-care time for yourself today? You deserve it!
