Gear Up for the 21-Day Challenge!
You're probably wondering what to expect with all this buzz about Yoga Wake Up's 21-Day Challenge. Callie Morrocco here, Yoga Wake Up's Marketing and Community Manager, to explain a little bit about what you can look forward to in this unique and exciting New Year's challenge.
In case you're asking yourself, "Why 21 days?", studies have shown that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. We want to help you start the new year of 2018 with purpose, cultivating love for yourself and being more in tune with the present moment. In this increasingly fast-paced society we live in, it's easy to get lost in what our co-founder, Lizzie Brown, calls "the scroll". This challenge has been designed to help you EMBRACE the BOREDOM and use your iPhone with intention.
Here are a few things we're offering you for support and motivation throughout this challenge:
1. Facebook Group
We've created a Facebook Group to offer you a community of fellow challengers! Post your progress or a goal you're working towards, ask for advice from other yogis, or even just follow along as we share our favorite morning rituals and inspiration. Use it as a place to seek connection and motivation!
2. Weekly Email Blast
Have you signed up for our newsletter yet?! We've lined up 3 weeks of encouragement and tips from your favorite Yoga Wake Up teachers. We've selected a different theme for each week, carefully designed to tackle the hardships you might face during this challenge. For instance, we invite you to embrace the awkwardness of a shared elevator, or pause and reflect on the things you're grateful for INSTEAD of checking your phone. Don't fret, these emails will offer you insight into what some of the most influential yoga instructors do to keep mindful and intentional in their daily use of technology.
3. iPhone Notifications
Enjoy a quick little message to make you smile! Look forward to a notification here and there to remind you of why you are doing this challenge. We hope to be there every step of the way.
As a "mindfulness app", we know technology is an amazing tool, but also has the ability to hold some addictive qualities. Instead of getting rid of our use of technology altogether, this challenge has been created to help manage your usage. We hope that this, in turn, will help you create a deeper connection to yourself and your loved ones, as well as help you embrace the present moment. Disconnect to reconnect.
